Syed Baba Jaan says : Bear witness! The self (nafs) is a formidable adversary. It tells a person, “You have committed so many sins, your prayers cannot be accepted now.” But Allah says, if ever a person commits a fault and calls out, “O Lord!” the angels try to hide this plea so that it doesn’t reach Allah. They hide it once, twice, thrice. But when the person calls out for the fourth time and the angels begin to hide it again, Allah asks the angels, “Why do you object?” He is My servant, and he knows that no one but Me can forgive. Bear witness, I have forgiven him. You all bear witness. Behold the greatness of Allah’s being!
