The amusing thing is that we love what is transient, and neglect to love that which is eternal. This is a significant issue for us. As Hazrat Ali (RA) said, everything in this world is destined to perish and decline, except for the Divine Entity, which has always been and will always be. Our unrest arises because we love every perishable thing, no matter how small or large, whether it’s a palace or just a pen in our pocket.
