As long as there is breath in the body, there will be challenges—illnesses, sorrows, hardships. This is affirmed in a blessed Hadith. But we often try to escape from this truth, from knowledge itself. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ once drew a square. Inside it, he drew a line and said, “This is your life.” Then he pointed to the square and said, “These are your desires.” Around the line, he marked small arrows—“These,” he explained, “are your trials—your pains, illnesses, and struggles. You escape one, only to fall into the next. Then the next, and the next.” How long can the goat’s mother really stay safe? This is a process. We are made from dust. Everything in us evolves—we grow older, our hair turns white, our children grow, and then they too grow old. It’s the unending cycle of generations. But the truth that brings peace to the heart is this: nothing happens by anyone’s words—whatever happens, happens by Allah’s will.
