In the nascent stages of engaging with the message of Surah Ar-Rahman, it was not merely about listening; it went beyond the superficial acknowledgment of “having heard” or the relief of resolving issues at hand. When someone pointed out that something remained amiss, and upon recovery from illness, we might say, “All praise belongs to Allah.” But was it only the ailment that was addressed, or was there a deeper impact? Surah Al-Jinn conveys that the jinn were informed about a divine discourse capable of turning dead hearts towards the path of truth. Thus, the Qalandar Pak RA emphasized the essence of reviving dead hearts, echoing the same sentiment: to guide these hearts towards righteousness. If, after listening, one does not embark upon the path of truth, then what has truly been heard? In essence, nothing at all. The question then arises, why did it not have an effect on me?
